{Media Invite}

When I received the invite to the media event for a Kabuki, I immediately RSVPed my attendance. Japanese Kabuki is a unique artform that is exclusive to Japan. My only chance of catching a performance was a trip to Japan (which has not happened for me yet). So, it is with much excitement and anticipation that I announce that the Kabuki is coming to Singapore!

And it is not any Kabuki but the famous Takizawa Kabuki!

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the famous Takizawa Kabuki is staging its first overseas performance in Singapore. Takizawa Kabuki is an electrifying live entertainment show featuring elements of pop and Japanese cultures. This award-winning performance holds not one, but THREE Guinness World Records for the most number of top acts produced by an individual, Johnny Kitagawa, the founder and president of Johnny & Associates, Japan’s foremost talent agency.

The theme for Singapore’s performance is Four Seasons of Japan.

For its first overseas show, the producers have spared no efforts to create a spectacular theatrical experience the audience will remember for life. The performance is a collection of the BEST scenes from past Takizawa Kabuki shows.

Hideaki Takizawa, is the star and director of Takizawa Kabuki. In honor of the nation’s SG50 celebrations, Hideaki Takizawa has personally handpicked 12 young local dancers in a special SG50 tribute segment to celebrate the country’s Golden Jubilee. The kids, ranging from 8 years old to 12 years old, are from Dance Factory, Dancepointe Ballet and dAcademy under Dancepointe Academy. These young dancers were selected for their dance skills and the special energy that they portrayed in their eywill perform alongside the megastar in an exclusive, never before seen dance routine specially choreographed by Hideaki Takizawa.

When Takizawa Kabuki premiered its 10th Anniversary show at the prestigious Shinbashi Enbujo Theatre in Tokyo in April this year, all 70,000 tickets were sold within days.

What can you expect from Takizawa Kabuki?

Expect a great magical blockbuster featuring lavish sets, stellar singing, dancing and acting by the performances, stunning choreography, Japanese drama and action with lots of energy and showmanship!
