The Sentosa Buskers Festival is back for the fifth year. I am happy to see some returning acts from international buskers as well as many new ones.

Sentosa Buskers Festival happens from 6 to 14 September 2014,  4.30pm onwards at the Palawan Beach and Beach Plaza, Sentosa.  Admission is FREE  although island admission & carpark charges will apply.

Check out the list of international and local buskers and their acts.

1. Aeriel Manx (Australia)

Acts: sword swallowing
Dubbed the king of swords, Aeriel Manx is a master of the unimaginable with his array of chilling stunts that will be sure to leave your jaws dropping! Reigning from Australia, Aeriel has an impressive list of past performances in many countries, including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Auckland Busker Festival, Skopje Buskers Festival and Shibinik Buskers Festival.

2. Dan The Violin Player (Singapore)

Acts: Music
Be charmed by Dan’s passionate string performance that involves different genres of music, from classical to jazz to pop, including oldies! The talented violinist never fails to add his personal musical interpretation to popular tunes to create unique pieces for all to enjoy.

3. Fruitillas con Crema (Chile)

Acts: Comedy and Juggling
Juggling since the age of 15, Claudio Martínez Riveros discovered the art of clown and developed two clown characters “Frutillas con Crema” and “Cotonito” when searching for a way to present his juggling act on stage.  Visiting us at the Sentosa Buskers Festival this year is Frutillas con Crema who will entertain all with his hilarious character and skilful juggling tricks!

4. Flaming Matrix (Singapore)

Acts: Fire Performance
Local tribal group Flaming Matrix goes way back to the days when the old Musical Fountain in Sentosa was still around! Watch them spit fire and thrill the audience with their sizzling hot stunts as they interact with audiences.

5. Gadbike (Canada)

Acts: Bike stunts
Part of entertaining duo Les Dudes, Francis Gadbois will also be performing solo with his speciality – bike stunts! He is a master of artistic bicycle and will stun the audience with wacky and amazing bike stunts!

6. Les Dudes (Canada and Switzerland)

Acts: Circus Acts
Think juggling is easy? Wait till you throw in flames and unicycles! Talented duo, Les Dudes will take over the streets and set people, puppets and clubs flying through the air one after another. Be amused by urban street circus performers Francis Gadbois from Canada and Philippe Dreyfuss from Switzerland, who have performed at the Cirque du Soleil show, as they delight the audience with comedy and astonishing tricks!

7. The Grumpy Queen (United Kingdom)

Acts: Living statue
The Empress Strikes Back! This hilarious Queen Victoria living statue has travelled over for a Royal performance with a difference. Poised with her orb and sceptre in hand she’s ready to rule and is feeling very grumpy about it. If you are a brave soul, go ahead and try to snap a picture with her! Don’t get too close or you might very well become part of the entertainment!

8. Mr Spin (Australia)

Acts: Circus and juggler
An endearing and charismatic character, Mr Spin Show will enthrall the crowd with a highly skilled comic, vaudevillian-style circus act. Watch him jump onto an eight-foot zigzag unicycle (of his own design) from which he juggles three baseball bats while balancing a glass of water on his head!

9. Mr Banana Show (Canada)

Acts: Circus and comedy
Mr Banana Show is a crowd pleaser who never fails to amuse the audience with his physical comedy and circus skills. This unique character has performed in over 40 countries in the last ten years and has finally made its way to our State of Fun! A favourite during his show, Mr Banana will balance himself on a 2.5m high slack rope while entertaining the crowd with his hilarious antics.

10. Tuto Tul (Argentina)

Acts: Clown and circus
Escape reality with Tuto Tul through his magical suitcase and embark on an amazing adventure full of poetry filled with dancing balls, living objects and a magical tree with exotic fruits! A favourite at the festival last year, Tuto Tul’s comedic romp will get everyone giggling and laughing regardless of cultural background.

11. The Tripping Man (United Kingdom)

Acts: Living Statue
He’s late and falling all over just to get your attention! One minute he is a stressed out commuter, the next he’s flying first class onto the pavement. You wouldn’t want to miss this brain-bending living statue character’s world premier at the Sentosa Buskers Festival! Take a tumble with The Tripping Man and you will be falling over with laughter!

12. The Amazing Drumming Monkeys (Australia)

Acts: Puppetry
Jam along with the amazing drumming monkeys and groove to the rhythm of the music! Perfect for the little ones aged two to eight years old, this adorable little variety show will set the whole family bopping to the beat!

13. The Two Tall Guys (Singapore)

Acts: Magic and comedy
The Two Tall Guys is a comedy duo act that combines class, excitement, danger and comedy all into one magic show. Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster ride of fun and mystifying magic as they showcase magical illusions that have never been seen before.

14. The J Show (Singapore)

Acts: Comedy Circus
Watch Jay turn from a skillful juggler to a classical musician by transforming his unique act of juggling ping pong balls to using them to produce melodious tunes on the xylophone! In his grand finale, Jay defies gravity yet again by juggling three razor sharp knives perched on top of his Rola Bola tower – now that is a spectacular performance!

15. The Burning Prata Brothers (Singapore)

Acts: Music
Indulge in refreshing tunes made by the reedy sounds of the harmonica and the melodic strains from a dulcimer. A unique combination of the two instruments, The Burning Prata Brothers will charm the crowd with their melodious tunes and undeniable chemistry.

16. Off Beater (Singapore)

Acts: Music
Talented local siblings are back again and this time, with even more songs to entertain everyone! They will charm the crowd with covers and mashups of popular tunes across a plethora of genres, from Classical to Oldies to K-Pop, on the violin, guitar and ukulele!

17. Way Past Curfew (Singapore)

Acts: Music
Another pair of musically-inclined siblings, Christian (age 12) and Shannon (age 10) have been playing and singing together ever since Christian taught himself to play the piano at the age of 5! Come and watch the brother and sister duo rock the stage this Sentosa Buskers Festival!
