LEGO® BOOST Is Number ONE on the Kids’ Christmas Wish List

Every Christmas morning, my kids tear through their Christmas presents with glee, knowing that there is always something they wanted from mom and dad (me and my husband). But our presents are not the first presents they eye. It is the present from Santa, who miraculously ALWAYS buys them THE most coveted gifts. **WINK**

So, if you play the same game I do, you will want to know what is the MOST coveted gift on the Christmas list this year. The number one MUST-HAVE toy this season is the LEGO® BOOST Creative Tooolbox. It won the Toy Award at the 2017 Nuremberg International Toy Fair.

Here’s what makes it a winner. The LEGO® BOOST is a supercharged 5-in-1 building and coding set that empowers children to bring their LEGO creations to life by adding movement, sound and personality!

Designed for kids over seven years old, the LEGO® BOOST allows kids to turn their LEGO creations into programmable robots, which takes the LEGO experience to a new level for the kids!

What is different about LEGO® BOOST ?

LEGO® BOOST comes with lots of LEGO pieces for your kids to build with. There is also a LEGO stud-covered brick with built-in tilt sensor that can detect distance. You will need to download the LEGO® BOOST app on your tablet with a running iOS 10.3 and newer or an Android 5.0 or above to build and play with LEGO® BOOST. Visit this site to check if your tablet is compatible.

LEGO Boost

The app is free. It contains guidance and building instructions, plus simple coding commands which your digital-aged kids will pick up quickly. The LEGO® BOOST app includes a “creative canvas” that includes basic building instructions for three simple base models that children can use to customize their own LEGO creations:

  • A walking base for making animals like a dragon or a pony
  • A driving base for building vehicles like a dune buggy or rover
  • An entrance base so that children can make their own castle, fort, or even a futuristic space station.

With the LEGO® BOOST set, you can choose to build any of these five creations — Vernie the Robot, Frankie the Cat, the Guitar 4000, the Multi-Tool Rover 4 (M.T.R.4), and the Autobuilder.

LEGO Boost

LEGO® BOOST even lets children record voice effects for their creations which adds personality without requiring spelling or typing. Once they get started, your kids (young and old) will be occupied for a couple of hours building, experimenting and exploring. I guarantee it.

The LEGO® BOOST Review

We were fortunate to receive a set to test out. It took us a couple of  hours to build and test-run our creations.  Watch this video by my son and his friend, Nestor on their Robot creation.

We love LEGO for their innate ability to empower children and help them realize their goals of bringing their LEGO creations to life. LEGO® BOOST is a great and fun way to introduce children to the principles of coding and show them the possibilities beyond the digital world.

You can get the LEGO® BOOST Creative Toolbox at Toys R Us (limited sets only), all the LEGO Certified Stores island-wide and Bricksworld, while stocks last.

Retailing at SGD$249.90, some parents may consider it a tad pricey. But if you take into account the hours it will take your kids away from the brain-numbing digital games, I will say the price is well worth it. Making this a definite Santa-worthy gift for your good boy or girl.

Tell us in the comments below what’s number one on your kids’ wishlist for Christmas this year. We will love to hear from you. Connect with Us on social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube.
