If you are not travelling during the one week September school holidays (6 – 14 September), fret not as there are plenty of fun things to do with your kids. Here are some stimulating, non-academic and kid-friendly activities for you to consider.
1) Sentosa Busker Festival @ The State of Fun
Last year, we had a ball of a time at the Sentosa Buskers Festival. We love meeting the buskers, shopping at the mini flea markets and trying our hands at the interactive posts where you can learn to spin plates or walk on a slack rope. This year, we can’t wait to be mesmerized by more captivating performances like jaw dropping sword-swallowing acts, a grumpy Queen Victoria, highly entertaining clown jugglers and a sizzling hot fire tribal performance!

3) The Nightingale @ Singapore Repertory Theatre
This is a wonderfully moving story about a plain looking, brown Nightingale that spellbinds the Emperor of China with her lilting birdsong. The Emperor captures and keeps her in a gilded cage for his daily entertainment, but alas, along with her freedom, the beautiful voice of the Nightingale is lost, and a singing mechanical bird replaces her. Follow her on her quest to regain her voice and fly freely again. This is a wonderful tale that reminds us to appreciate and value the world around us.
