My daughter came up with a GREAT idea today! Invent a Christmas tree with a button that enables it to expand or shrink at will. Imagine the amount of storage space we will save!
This brainwave idea was inspired by Dr. Doofenschmitrz from the popular TV series Phineas and Ferb. Dr. Doofenschmitrz is a misguided scientist who invent smart gadgets like the “Shinknator” for evil use.
In previous years, we had artificial Christmas Trees which we store away after Christmas. But storing them was a huge headache and we never seem to have enough space for them. Finally, last year we junked our artificial tree of seven years – it was worth every penny of the $150 we spent.
Real Christmas Tree
This year, we decided to buy a real, living, breathing tree from IKEA. While we were there, we had dinner, did some shopping, etc… By the time, we went to pick our tree, we had only two choices. It was disappointing!
The next day, they delivered the tree to us. It didn’t look like it was two meters tall, and it looked, sickly.
I have been receiving some really poor service lately, so imagine my pleasant surprise when the IKEA attendant came to me and told me that the tree was in poor condition and then made arrangements to get a fresh tree delivered to us the NEXT day! Now, THIS is good service!
The Next Day…
This glorious tree came to us. And when he unwrapped the tree, the smell of fresh Christmas permeated my living room!
We LOVE Christmas!
Even though we were a day late in putting up our tree – we have a family tradition of putting up our Christmas Tree on 25 November each year. That might change if we continue to get a LIVE tree.
Next week, we are heading to Orchard Road to admire the Christmas lights. Let us know if you already have and what to look out for.
