It’s Christmas Time!!

That’s the feeling you get when you visit Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay (minus the snow and the cold sensation)!

I am sure you have seen the flood of photos on Christmas Wonderland @ Gardens by the Bay over the past few days. Being the LARGEST Yuletide Fair on our sunny island, Christmas Wonderland @ Gardens by the Bay is a massive undertaking!

This year, the people who organize this annual affair is taking you back to the Santa roots with a traditional European Christmas! There are four main festive areas this year: the Luminarie Light Sculptures, the Festive Market, The Fairground and the Christmas Toyland.

Let US show you around!

1.The Italian Luminarie Light Sculptures (Festive Grounds)

Dates: 27 November to 3 Jan 2016

Time: 7pm to midnight daily

At the entrance of Gardens by the Bay are arches that lead into the festive grounds. These arches light up at night.

Christmas Wonderland

These magnificent Italian luminaries created by skilled craftsmen using white wood from the south of Italy. It begins at the Golden Garden and extend throughout the festival sites. This year’s lights will feature an all-new architectural design reminiscent of the medieval period.

There are 56 enchanting Luminaries sculptures nestled within the Supertree Grove, Dragonfly Bridge, Meadow Bridge and Flower Dome.

The largest Luminarie is the Spalliera which surrounds the gazebo. This is where the Minister for Trade and Industry Mr. S Iswaran officiated the light up on 27 November.

Take a picture at the AIA Trick Art and let your imagination run wild with the original 3D optical illusion artwork. The Christmas Parades performed by NTU Nutcracker Parade, Vandor Scouts Marching Band, New Stream Brass Band and Merlion Pipes & Drums add to the festive spirit! ANE, don’t miss the nightly Blizzard Time at the Spalliera which enhances the spirit of Christmas with our tropical version of ‘snow’!

Near to the Spalliera is The Ice Palace, whose 20m entrance features the tallest sculpture of lights. Read about it further down the post- it’s number 3 on the list.

The Luminaries are achieved by the fourth generation of the family-run business of Paulicelli Illuminations International – the same company that illuminates the night lights in Paris.

The Luminaries form a great backdrop to take pictures with.

2. Christmas Toyland (Inside the Flower Dome)
