Picture this! Kids are playing on their digital devices, and the parents are smiling and fully supportive of them doing so.

Is it a dream (or nightmare)? Absolutely NOT!!

There is a NEW game in town that is both educational and fun for your kids! This game is developed by the best game developers in the industry and endorsed by the world’s top scientists!

This game changer is Big Bang Legends. It combines the best in Finnish education and gaming experience for the kids, thus effectively satisfying both the parents and kids requirements for education and fun respectively. Kids playing Big Bang Legends have so much fun playing that it will not dawn on them that they are learning about particle physics.

Lauri Järvilehto, CEO of Lightneer says:  “Five years ago we’d joke that one day we’ll teach quantum physics to five-year-olds. Now we’re seeing five-year-olds playing Big Bang Legends and having conversations about quarks, protons and atoms. It’s pretty amazing.”

Big Bang Legends is the first game by Finland-based learning game studio Lightneer who brought together gaming veterans with backgrounds at companies like Rovio, Digital Chocolate and Gameloft  and the science legends such as Oxford Professor Marcus du Sautoy, CERN Head of Global Outreach Rolf Landua and former Mattel and Sega CEO Tom Kalinske to create this game.

Big Bang Legends (no relation to Big Bang Theory TV show, except for the physics connection) is available in Singapore. Click on this link to DOWNLOAD the game from the Appstore.

Finland and Singapore are world leaders in education and technology, both top the global PISA scores, but with wholly different mindsets. It’s great to launch our first game in Singapore bringing the two leaders together.” says Peter Vesterbacka, Co-Founder of Lightneer.

As the global lead market, the game launches in Singapore today. Student game workshops were led at schools, such as Stamford American International School (SAIS) whose students first beta-tested the concept yesterday. Hear what kids in Singapore have to say about this game.

Game levels consists of puzzles and mazes, various kinds of antimatter monsters and collectible rewards. The periodic table becomes familiar when collecting and upgrading all 118 unique characters with special superpowers, and by playing, teach the element names and symbols.

Big Bang Legends app is free to download. For a monthly subscription of 1.49 SGD, users can go ad-free and gain access to exclusive video learning content tailor-made by expert professors from Oxford & CERN.

Also at the launch to support the game is 15-year-old TEDex speaker Dylan Soh who will be interning for a month with Lightneer in Finland later this year. I was happy to have the opportunity to have a chat with this inspiring young man. Look out for our interview with him and read about his views on education, games and being a teenager with big dreams in Singapore.
